hs-CRP Testing
A single blood marker for systemic inflammation — the through-line connecting cardiovascular, metabolic, and aging risk.
What it does
A single blood marker for systemic inflammation — the through-line connecting cardiovascular, metabolic, and aging risk. Just don't draw it during an acute illness.
High-sensitivity CRP detects low-grade systemic inflammation below the threshold a standard CRP test would flag.
What the evidence shows
Overall evidence strength: High certainty
Who it's for, who should skip
Anyone screening chronic inflammation. Draw it when well — it spikes with any acute inflammatory event, which would misread a chronic baseline. Target <1.0 mg/L, longevity target <0.5.
Running it
Measuring it
Retest hs-CRP — No guideline-based repeat cadence — confirm with two readings at least 2 weeks apart, averaged. Serial monitoring is not recommended..
